Sector for Investments

Projekat rehabilitacije putevaSector for Investments deals with the management of investments on state road network including the activities of technical preparation, contract and project management, their monitoring and control. It implements the contracts for consulting services for the preparation of various manuals and rulebooks whose purpose is to increase the quality of the implemented works on state road network.

Investments are financed from the budget of the Republic of Serbia, own funds of the enterprise and loans from international financing institutions, such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank and World Bank.

Belgrade Bypass

"BELGRADE BYPASS" loan was signed in 2010. Total amount of the loan is 40 million EUR.

Description: Construction of the Belgrade Bypass, from Orlovača to Avala Road, in total length of 5.4 kilometers.

Rehabilitation of Roads and Bridges B2

"REHABILITATION OF ROADS AND BRIDGES B2" loan was signed in 2007. Total amount of the loan is 33 million EUR.

Description: Rehabilitation of specific damaged sections, and rehabilitation and remedy of 100 bridges on the state roads of category I and II.

Rehabilitation of the "Gazela" Bridge

"REHABILITATION OF THE GAZELA BRIDGE" loan was signed in 2007. Total amount of the loan is 33 million EUR.

Description: Rehabilitation and remedy of the "Gazela" Bridge includes the rehabilitation of structures on the left bank of the River Sava (in total length of 1,384 m and area of 17,712 m2), the structures across the River Sava (in total length of 468 m and area of 12,884 m2), the structures on the right bank of the River Sava (in total length of 2,145 m and area of 23,400 m2), as well as the structures on the "Mostar" Interchange (in total length of 463 m and area of 5,561 m2).

Belgrade Bypass

"BELGRADE BYPASS" loan was signed in 2007. Total amount of the loan is 60 million EUR.

Description: Construction of the Belgrade Bypass, Sector A, section Batajnica – Dobanovci.

European Roads Project - B2

"EUROPEAN ROADS PROJECT - B2" loan was signed in 2004. Total amount of the loan is 120 million EUR.

Description: Construction of the left lane of the E-75 motorway, section Novi Sad – Belgrade, and rehabilitation of the existing Beška Bridge.

Roads Rehabilitation Project

"ROADS REHABILITATION PROJECT" loan was signed in 2002. Total amount of the loan is 95 million EUR.

Description: Rehabilitation of significant main road routes in the Republic of Serbia.

Urgent Transport Rehabilitation Project

"URGENT TRANSPORT REHABILITATION PROJECT" loan was signed in 2001. Total amount of the loan is 37 million EUR.

EBRD

Loan for the R-251 ring road and the rehabilitation of the E-75 motorway segment

"LOAN FOR THE R-251 RING ROAD AND THE REHABILITATION OF THE E-75 MOTORWAY SEGMENT" was signed in 2007. Total amount of the loan is 25 million EUR.

Description: Rehabilitation of the motorway segment passing through Belgrade and of the R-251 ring road around Belgrade.

Belgrade Bypass

"BELGRADE BYPASS" loan was signed in 2007. Total amount of the loan is 55 million EUR.

Description: Construction of the Sector A of the Belgrade Bypass, section Batajnica – Dobanovci.

Novi Sad – Belgrade motorway

"NOVI SAD – BELGRADE MOTORWAY" loan was signed in 2005. Total amount of the loan is 72 million EUR.

Description: Construction of the new Beška Bridge across the Danube and the rehabilitation of the existing E-75 motorway lane, section Novi Sad – Belgrade.

Roads Recovery Project

"ROADS RECOVERY PROJECT" loan was signed in 2002. Total amount of the loan is 76 million EUR.

Description: Rehabilitation of significant main road routes in Serbia.

EAR

 

Donation for PE "Roads of Serbia"

The European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) has provided a donation to the Public Enterprise “Roads of Serbia” in the amount of EUR 1 million as a part of CARDS program for the following equipment:

1. Vehicle for bridge inspection and testing
2. Mobile laboratory for asphalt
3. Stationary laboratory for testing of asphalt mixtures

Mr. Hristos Gofas, the Acting Head of the EAR Office in Serbia was present at the demonstration of the vehicle for bridge inspection and testing on the bridge in Ostruznica near Belgrade. The vehicle Mercedes - Benz of ACTROS type belongs to the group of the most contemporary vehicles specialized for bridge inspections and prevention activities as well as minor bridge repairs. With assistance of this vehicle, the PE “Roads of Serbia” will inspect more than 80 bridges in the following period.

The takeover ceremony of the donated equipment continued at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade with the signing of the protocol on business cooperation between the PE “Roads of Serbia” and Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade followed, by which the mobile laboratory for asphalt and the stationary laboratory for testing of asphalt mixtures are consigned to the Faculty of Civil Engineering for usage.

The equipment will be used for testing asphalt mixes pursuant to the requirements of the PE “Roads of Serbia” and other interested entities with the approval of the PE “Roads of Serbia”, for training the PE “Roads of Serbia” staff and students on undergraduate and doctoral studies on the Faculty of Civil Engineering, as well as for scientific and research work for studying characteristics of asphalt mixes.

Mobile laboratory for asphalt will make contribution to determining the quality of made asphalt mixtures and necessary corrections with pavement constructions, while stationary laboratory for testing of asphalt mixtures will increase efficiency of research because test results will be used as basis for designing future pavement structures and more efficient monitoring of the condition of pavement structures already in use.

The introduction of this equipment into the operations of the PE “Roads of Serbia” will enable more efficient preparation of investments and project management, better supervision of maintenance, protection and control of the right of way, efficient maintenance of bridges and structures as well as the increase of traffic safety and more efficient environmental protection.

Rehabilitation of Eastern Serbia Roads

The Project "Rehabilitation of Eastern Serbia Roads" was one of the Projects included in the Programme of support to Municipalities in the Eastern Serbia (PPOIS) of the EU, realized by the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR). This Programme stated support for fifteen municipalities in the eastern Serbia in regard to development of infrastructure, institutions and economy by means of technical and investment assistance to subject municipalities.

As equal partner in implementation of this Project, PE “Roads of Serbia”, by signing the Memorandum of understanding with the EAR, obliged itself to equal financial participation in realization of the Project "Rehabilitation of Eastern Serbia Roads" with the total budget amounting to 10,400,000 EUR.

The EAR financed preparation of the rehabilitation design, execution of the Works and supervision services on the rehabilitation of the sections of the 1st class public road M-25, Kladovo – Zajecar – Nis by the amount of 5,200,000 EUR, while PE “Roads of Serbia” by equal financial share of 5,200,000 EUR financed rehabilitation of selected sections on the 2nd class roads (R121, R104, R105, R248, R260, R244 and R243) and on the 1st class road M-9 in the total length of 54 km. Besides financial participation, during the realization of the project of rehabilitation of the sections on the 1st class public road M-25, Kladovo – Zajecar – Nis, the PE “Roads of Serbia” also provided technical support.

Realization of the project “Rehabilitation of sections on the 1st class public road M-25, Kladovo – Zajecar – Nis” has started in March 2006, and the Works started in the second half of August, 2007.

During the realization of the project of rehabilitation of nine sections of the road M-25, on the part from Kladovo via Zajecar to Nis, in the total length of 30.24 km, 57,000 t of asphalt were placed, 9,200m of curbs and 3,800 m of gutters constructed and app 27,000m3 of stone material used. Widening of the existing pavement in the length of 6 km was constructed together with app. 2 km of new side walks through urban areas.

The purpose of this project was to benefit to local economic development of municipalities in the eastern Serbia by reconstruction of infrastructure, as to popularize this region for prospective investment, what will lead to increase of investments in the field of services and production, improvements in foreign trade exchange of the region, enhancement of traffic safety and growth of incomes from tourism.
