PE “Roads of Serbia” is ready for the end of the month and the upcoming weekend because, during the summer season, these are the periods with potentially higher traffic volume on toll stations in both motorway directions, towards Niš and towards Belgrade.

PE “Roads of Serbia”, Sector for Toll Collection intensified the work on toll stations in order to provide unobstructed passing of the vehicles due to intensified traffic on motorways in the Republic of Serbia.

In June, 1,141,921 vehicles passed through the toll station “Belgrade” at Bubanj Potok, while in July 1,511,596 vehicles were recorded.

For the purpose of faster flow of vehicles, prevention of delays and more efficient work, PE “Roads of Serbia” has enabled that all gates for toll collection and tickets distribution will be operational 24 hours a day without a minute of break, so the number of toll booth operators is increased and Special working regime of the technical department is organized so that potential sudden malfunctions could be eliminated as soon as possible.

PE “Roads of Serbia” get information on the motorway gantries about potential delays on toll stations, traffic closures, pavement condition, weather conditions and other necessary information.

Information for the drivers to prepare exact amount of money for paying toll are placed on visible places, written in English, German and Turkish in addition to Serbian. Toll booth operators are provided with sufficient amount of small banknotes and coins for the change.

Road users can pay toll in dinars (if owners of vehicles with national and foreign license plates), in euro (if owners of vehicles with foreign license plates), by payment cards and by electronic toll collection (TAG device, without stopping).

Electronic toll collection is becoming increasingly popular on our motorways. This modern model of toll payment by using TAG devices significantly reduces travel time because it enables vehicles to pass without stopping on dedicated toll lanes which exist on all major toll stations in the Republic of Serbia.

About 100,000 TAG devices are presently active in electronic toll collection system, namely, the number of users has increased by 50 percent in 2016.

TAGs are sold and recharged on 50 selling points which are located along all motorway sections in Serbia, on border crossings and in all bigger towns through the distribution network such as petrol stations NIS Gasprom, OMV, Europetrol, offices of AMSS and Tehnokop.

Drinking water is provided on all toll stations in the Republic of Serbia and the PE “Roads of Serbia” equipped all toll stations with first aid kits on which there is a trained person for giving first aid at every moment, 00-24.

Due to possible intensive showers and short-term severe weather in the upcoming days, PE “Roads of Serbia” kindly asks all participants in traffic to be very careful, to pay attention to road works, to adapt their speed to the road conditions, to obey speed limits and the placed traffic signage.

PE “Roads of Serbia” appeals to the drivers to start their journey fresh, healthy and after a good sleep and if it is possible to start long distance journeys early in the morning as well as to make breaks during the journey more frequently than usual.

PE “Roads of Serbia” wishes a safe journey to all participants in traffic!
