Due to frequent incidents and irresponsible behavior of traffic participants, on highways - in tunnel zones, as well as when driving through tunnels, PE "Roads of Serbia", in order to increase traffic safety, draws special attention to the following:
While driving through the tunnel, it is strictly forbidden to:
- STOPPING
- EXITING THE VEHICLE
- WALK THROUGH THE TUNNEL
- TAKING PHOTOES / RECORDING
- SLOW DRIVING
- OVERCOME
- SUDDEN BRAKING
"SAFELY THROUGH THE TUNNEL"
Driving through the tunnel under regular traffic conditions requires the following activities before entering and while driving in the tunnel, as follows:
BEFORE ENTERING THE TUNNEL AND DURING DRIVING IN THE TUNNEL
- Observe the speed limit - 80 km/h
- Keep a safe distance
- Use low beams
- Take off sunglasses
- Close the windows and turn on the air circulation in the vehicle
- Check fuel level and engine temperatures
- If you use cigarettes, put them out
- Do not stop in the tunnel, except in the case of an emergency and only in the stopping niche
- U-turns are prohibited
- It is not allowed to move the vehicle backwards
- Switch off the engine if the vehicle is stopped for more than one minute
"WE ARE NOT ALONE IN THE TUNNEL"
Measures in the event of emergency events that may endanger the lives of road users in the tunnel are different in the event of a vehicle breakdown, i.e. a fire in the tunnel:
IN CASE OF VEHICLE FAILURE
- Turn on all four turn signals
- Stop the vehicle safely in the stopping niche, or as close as possible to the right edge of the roadway
- Turn off the engine and leave the key in the ignition
- Put on a reflective vest and exit the vehicle on your right
- Position the safety triangle behind the stopped vehicle in the prescribed manner
- Call for help from the SOS niche
- Wait for the arrival of the vehicle of the competent services
IN CASE OF FIRE
- If the fire started on your vehicle and if you are able, take the vehicle out of the tunnel to a safe place. Otherwise, stop the vehicle so as not to endanger the safety of other road users
- Turn on all four turn signals
- Turn off the engine and leave the key in the ignition
- Put on a reflective vest and leave the vehicle
- Help the people in your vehicle to leave the scene of the fire as soon as possible
- Extinguish the fire in the initial phase with the initial fire extinguisher from the vehicle or the apparatus located in the SOS niche, taking care of your own safety
- Activate the nearest manual fire alarm
- If you cannot put out the fire, move to a safe distance and listen to the instructions broadcast over the loudspeaker in the tunnel
- Start evacuation from the tunnel, follow the direction of the evacuation route signs to the nearest exit
- Take care of passing emergency vehicles
- Follow the instructions of the fire-rescue unit during the fire-fighting operation
Guided by the thesis that accidents on the roads can be prevented, PE "Roads of Serbia" systematically works to raise the level of awareness about the problems of traffic accidents and draws the public's attention to the importance and possibilities of improving the level of traffic safety, as well as reducing the level of traffic accidents through the education of all traffic participants.
Respect the posted traffic signals, drive rested, take a break every two hours, save your life and the lives of other road users!
