PE “Roads of Serbia“ is informing that all I and II category state roads in the Republic of Serbia, as well as border crossings, are passable.
On almost all sections the carriageways are mostly wet with a little soggy snow on the Belgrade bypass and the territories of Ražanj and Aleksinac.
Cargo traffic is forbidden on Iriški venac, Divčibare, Jošanica Spa - Kopaonik…
Due to predicted low temperatures, there is a possibility of sporadic black ice on roads, especially on the sections along the rivers, valleys, gorges and road structures as well.
PE “Roads of Serbia“ is appealing to all traffic participants to obey the traffic signage and adapt their speed to the road conditions.
Currently the second degree of readiness is in force, and teams of road workers are at any moment ready to intervene for the purpose of safe traffic flow.
Over 1,000 road workers are in the field with adequate machinery for snow ploughing and the prescribed protective gear in accordance with the Government of the Republic of Serbia recommendations.
According to the warning issued by the Republic Hydrometeorological Service, the formation of snowdrifts is expected in the course of the day in eastern Serbia and mountainous regions, due to strong wind. The weakening and gradual cessation of snowfall is expected during the day on Wednesday, 25.03.2020.
PE “Roads of Serbia“ is advising the drivers to stay at home and follow the Government’s advice.
