Putevi Srbije, in cooperation with members of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia - Emergency Situations Sector Čačak, fire-rescue units Čačak and Gornji Milanovac and the Čačak emergency medical service, on June 4, 2026, on state road I A category number 2, in the left tube of the "Šarani" tunnel, conducted a simulation of an emergency event.
The goal of the periodic exercise was to train and check the readiness of the operators from the "Takovo" Operational and Management Center to react in case of emergency events, as well as providing assistance to vulnerable persons and rescuing material assets in tunnels and tunnels' influential zones.
According to the operational plan defined by the Department of Safety and Health, Fire Protection and Emergency Situations, the tactical task of the exercise included the simulation of an emergency event in the tunnel - a passenger vehicle enters the work zone by mistake and runs into a stopped service vehicle, which it ran into and a traffic accident occurred with an injured person.
