PE "Roads of Serbia" is actively marking the World Day of Remembrance for the Road Traffic Victims which is being marked all over the world under the traditional slogan "Remember. Support. Act".
The fact that "of all the causes of death, injuries in road traffic remain the leading cause of death of children and young people" is shocking and disturbing. When people are killed or severely injured in road traffic collisions, the world loses more than just individuals - it loses their potential, ideas, future impact on society. They become lost talents. That is why the main message and slogan of this year's campaign is "Lost talents".
Suffering in traffic accidents takes on the proportions of a pandemic, which primarily affects the most vulnerable group, above all - young people, and which, in addition to trauma, injury and grief, also has a devastating economic impact on countries, communities and families.
Therefore, during the Decade of Action 2021-2030 World Day of Remembrance for the Road Victims has an important role in achieving the goal of reducing the number of traffic victims by 50%.
As every year, the goals of marking the World Day of Remembrance for the Road Traffic Victims in 2025 are remembering the victims, providing a social and legal platform to support victims and injured in traffic and their families, acknowledging the crucial work of emergency services and promoting all actions that prevent any further possibility of fatalities and injuries in traffic.
