Works on the construction of the Northern Ring Road around Kragujevac are in progress.
The expressway, 22 kilometers long is designed for speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour, will have five interchanges and 25 road objects, bridges, overpasses and underpasses. The bypass begins at the fifth kilometer of the Kragujevac - Batočina road, at the Jovanovac interchange, and ends in Dragobraća, at the beginning of the planned Kragujevac - Mrčajevci highway.
The project is being built in two phases. The first phase includes works from the Jovanovac interchange to the Petrovac interchange, and the second - the construction of the route from the Petrovac interchange to Dragobraća. On the Petrovac interchange, works are currently being carried out on the entrance and exit ramps, as well as on the three roundabouts that will connect the Petrovac settlement and the Cvetojevac work zone with the Northern Bypass around Kragujevac. Also, in the first phase, three screw constructions are being made, i.e. steel underpasses, while works on hydro-technical insulation, public lighting and water supply systems are also being carried out at the same time. At the Jovanovac interchange, works currently being carried out on the construction of pillars and main beams of the 100m long bridge connecting the Northern Ring Road and the state road Batočina - Kragujevac – Kraljevo.
