PE "Roads of Serbia", in accordance with the previously issued notification on the change in the traffic regime in the Laz and Munjino Brdo tunnels, informs the entire public that functional testing of the automatic control system is being conducted in the aforementioned tunnels in accordance with the operational plan for handling emergencies, in accordance with:
- "Law on Fire Protection" (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia 87/2018)
- "Rules on the content and manner of performing a technical inspection of a facility, the composition of the commission, the content of the commission's proposal on determining the suitability of a facility for use, monitoring of the soil and facility during construction and use and minimum warranty periods for certain types of facilities" (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia 6/2024)
- "Regulation on the conditions and procedure for establishing a trial operation regime for the purpose of conducting road traffic on state roads"(Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia 70/2025-34)
As a reminder, the facility was opened to traffic in a trial operation mode starting from 06.07.2025. and in the stated period, a total of 650,000 vehicles passed through this section of the highway, without any major emergencies, i.e. events that are typical for other road tunnels in the Republic of Serbia.
PE "Roads of Serbia" as a socially responsible enterprise and manager of state roads waited for the end of the summer season and the decrease in traffic intensity to begin testing, in order to minimize the impact on road users.
The trial operation mode implies that all necessary tests are carried out within a period of maximum 90 days, the functionality of the system is proven, and appropriate approvals from the competent state authorities are obtained.
During the period of partial suspension, traffic through the Laz and Munjino Brdo tunnels will be bidirectional through one tunnel tube, which represents the usual traffic regime during the execution of works and regular inspections of the tunnel's safety equipment.
PE "Roads of Serbia" appeals to road users to obey the changed traffic regime and the permitted vehicle speed during this period.
