Today, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, visited the works on the construction of the E-763 "Miloš Veliki" highway on the Pakovraće-Požega section, in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming, the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijević, acting director of PE "Roads of Serbia" Zoran Drobnjak, acting director of "Corridors of Serbia" Aleksandar Antic, representatives of local self-governments and contractors.
President Vučić stated that the Laz tunnel has been completed and that the work on the Munjino Brdo tunnel is nearing completion and that, when it is finished, this section will look magnificent. As he previously announced, the Pakovraće-Požega highway will be opened on Vidovdan, June 28, 2025.
"This section is a true masterpiece of our builders. I am proud and very happy about everything we have done. Everything looks incredible, nature is magnificent. With huge thanks to our Chinese friends, the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, for the great support he has always provided to our country, we are finishing this most difficult road we have built so far, and in exactly two months we will open the full profile of the highway to Požega", said the President of Serbia.
He added that this road is crucial for connecting western Serbia with Belgrade, that it will speed up the road to Užice, Zlatibor and all of western Serbia, and what is even more important is to increase traffic safety. "Considering the number of accidents and casualties on the most difficult section of the highway that goes to Zlatibor and Montenegro, this road will save many lives," the president pointed out.
He congratulated all the citizens on another success, noting that by returning to work, Serbia is rising, because by working and building, we fight in the best possible way and change the face of Serbia.
