12.06.20. Visitation of works on construction of motorway Е 763, section Preljina - Požega

On 12th June, 2020, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the Deputy Prime Minister  and the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlović, H.E. Ambassador of PR China, Chen Bo, the Mayor of Čačak, Milun Todorović, the Acting Director of the PE "Roads of Serbia", Zoran Drobnjak, and the representatives of the Chinese company "CCCC", visited the works on the construction of the section of the motorway Е-763, Preljina - Požega.

"This is the longest tunnel in Serbia, 2,850 metres long, and by all means the most difficult one for construction", president Vučić said during the visitation of the works on the tunnel Laz at Čačak and pointed out that this motorway would mean a lot to all people in the Zlatibor and the Moravica districts, as well as the entire country, since the citizens will be using it when travelling to Zlatibor and Montenegro.

The section Preljina - Požega, in the length of 30.96 km, is an extension of the already constructed motorway "Miloš Veliki", under traffic from Surčin to Preljina, and is being constructed in the form of a full motorway profile with belonging structures, interchanges, tunnels and bridges. The distinctive feature of this section is that it passes through a very difficult geographic terrain, which requires the construction of a large number of tunnels and bridges (almost one third of the route consists of bridges and tunnels).

The section Preljina - Požega foresees the construction of 3 tunnels: Munjino Brdo, Laz and Trbušani. All three tunnels have been designed to have two separate tunnel tubes, each per direction. The tunnels Laz and Munjino Brdo, under construction, are currently the longest tunnels in Serbia.

35 bridges of various lengths and spans, compatible with obstacles and configuration of the terrain, have been designed on the section.
