PE “Roads of Serbia” appeals to all traffic participants to be especially careful and to adjust their speed to road conditions, because, according to the warning of the Republic Hydro-meteorological Institute, on Sunday 04.01.2026, in the central belt, from western and southwestern Serbia, through Belgrade, Šumadija, Pomoravlje and Homolje region, to the east - Timočka and Negotinska Krajina, expect the most intense precipitation, occasionally with wet snow and the formation, i.e. increase of snow cover, from 10 to 20 cm high, locally and 30 cm.
Also, in the same areas, from the evening hours of January 4th, 2026 until January 7th, 2026 year, occurrence of freezing rain, locally is expected, while an increase in snow cover is expected only in the north and west of the country.
In the area of Belgrade, on Sunday, January 4th, 2026, cloudy and cold with wet snow, with a snow cover of 10 to 20 cm high is expected, and from January 5th till January 7th, 2026, local occurrence of freezing rain is also expected.
We appeal to road users to use winter tires, not to set off on the road without winter equipment and chains, drive carefully, obey speed limits and adjust speed to road conditions.
