PUTEVI SRBIJE - STATEMENT REGARDING CERTAIN MEDIA REPORTS ON THE SAFETY OF THE M30 BRIDGE ON THE E-763 MOTORWAY

On the occasion of the publications of certain media regarding the alleged vulnerability threat of the M30 bridge on the E-763 motorway, "Putevi Srbije", in order to provide accurate and truthful information to the public, informs:

The first signs of instability in the area of the pier location S1 on the left of the M30 bridge appeared in the first half of February 2026.

The instability was manifested in the surface sliding of the bridge abutment cone and the embankment of the road body in a length of about 5 m (the total length of the embankment is 18 m after which, seen in the direction of Belgrade, a road cut appears).

The contractor immediately undertook urgent remediation measures in the form of controlled return of materials and re-profiling of the projected geometry, until favorable weather conditions for permanent remediation are obtained. However, after the first atmospheric precipitation, the expansion and deepening of the zone of instability was determined, so the Contractor undertook the performance of large-scale remedial works - by removing the activated material and replacing it with crushed stone.

Please note that both the cone of the bridge and the embankment in its entire length of 18m were constructed in accordance with the approved project documentation, both in terms of material characteristics and in terms of installation technology and execution of all works. The surface drainage measures were carried out in all respects according to the valid project documentation and all systems are in functional condition on the ground.

The depth of the zone of instability observed so far indicates that it is a so-called "fossil landslide" that was reactivated after construction under unfavorable meteorological conditions.

Therefore, the statement of Mr. Đajić (portal nova.rs) "that the material under the asphalt was washed away, that the water carried it away, because it was not done according to our standards" is technically unfounded.

The works were carried out continuously in meteorologically favorable weather conditions.

As part of these works, a temporary removal of the expansion of the bridge in the width of the pedestrian path was carried out so that the expansion would not be damaged by the execution of the works, and not because "the water washed away the material" as said in the video.

The M30 bridge structure is founded using the deep foundation method on drilled piles Ø1500mm, 15-17m deep, at each column location, and the occurrence of landslides does not affect it.

The claims of Mr. Đajić (portal nova.rs) on the basis of his amateur visual impression: "...the columns supporting the overpass were supported on a loose material. It was not seen that they were founded deep in the base and now cracks appeared on the overpass every 20, 30 cm" are materially untrue and technically absurd.

With the beginning of intense precipitation on March 28, 2026, the contractor reduced and then suspended the rehabilitation work, until the weather conditions allow further continuation of the work. The rehabilitation works were immediately continued in favorable weather conditions.

We would like to remind you that after taking over and putting the entire section from Pakovraće to Požega into traffic, the two-year Warranty period for the elimination of defects began in terms of the Contract.

All defects, unfinished works and inconsistencies with the approved project documentation recorded in this period (including the occurrence of landslides in the road belt) will be removed at the Contractor's expense.
