Work on the construction of the Northern Bypass around Kragujevac is progressing.
The expressway, 22 kilometers long, is designed for speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour, will have five interchanges and 24 facilities (14 bridges, 5 overpasses and 5 underpasses).
The construction of the Ring Road includes 3 phases.
Within Phase 1, more than 90 percent of the works have been completed, while the remaining works are on the arrangement of the road belt, installation of traffic signs and road equipment, works on asphalt layers in the area of the 400 kV transmission line...
As part of phase 2, work on the construction of pillars and bearing beams on bridge 2 was intensified.
Within phases 2 and 3, the construction of 13 bridges is planned.
Piles have been installed on a total of 11 bridges, and the construction of bearing beam columns, mounting brackets and other remaining works are underway.
It is planned to complete 7 out of 13 bridges by the end of the year, as well as to connect the Petrovac interchange with the Gornji Milanovac interchange.
In phase 3, earthworks have been intensified and are taking place in accordance with the weather conditions.
The Northern Bypass around Kragujevac is the most important strategic infrastructure project for Šumadija region and is of great importance for the city of Kragujevac, as it will solve most of the infrastructure problems, reduce traffic congestion and contribute to the progress of the economy.
