The minister of construction, transport and infrastructure in the technical mandate, Aleksandra Sofronijević, in the presence of the Assistant Director of Putevi Srbije Miodrag Poledica and the Director of the Sector for Investments, Aleksandar Kostadinović, visited on October 8, 2026, preparatory works on the construction of the section of the I B state road No. 28 Dub - Dubci with a tunnel under the "Kadinjača" pass.

The length of the newly designed route is 6.28 km and includes a 1.26 km long tunnel and 6 bridges.
The tunnel is single-tube for both directions of travel.
Parallel to the tunnel tube for traffic, an evacuation tunnel of smaller dimensions was designed for the passage of people and smaller medical vehicles in the event of a fire in the main tunnel tube.
The bridges span from 60m to 360m and bridge ravines and active landslides, which are a big problem in this area.

The construction of the future section will connect state road of I B category number 28 (Mali Zvornik-Ljubovija-Užice-Kremna-Granica with Bosnia (Kotroman)) with motorway E-761, as well as Corridors 10 and 11.
The construction of the tunnel will shorten the road between Užice and Bajina Bašta by 6 km and increase the safety and passability of traffic through Kadinjača.
The road is a continuation of the Bypass around Užice which is under construction and together with it directly connects western and central Serbia with the central and southeastern parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and at the same time provides a safer traffic connection between the leading tourist destinations of this region (Zlatibor, Tara, River Drina, Zlatar).
