Among its several activities, ASECAP organises once per year a meeting called "Study and Information Days", whose aim is to exchange information and experiences between the ASECAP members and the concessionaire companies, which belong to the ASECAP members, about the various subjects concerning road transport at European level.
45th annual ASECAP Study and Information Days were held in Paris on May 29-31 with the highlight on the manner in which motorway operators prepare their road infrastructures for transport decarbonisation and respond to new mobility challenges.
Taking into consideration the fact that 72% of Europeans travel by car and that 60% of freight is transported with trucks, tolled roads are a key part of the road infrastructure networks and they have an important role in the European mobility.
The topics covered new mobility trends and needs, European Electronic Toll Collection (EETS), cooperative intelligent transportation systems, sustainable mobility, maintenance of roads, automated and connected driving technologies, issues of security and data protection as well as environment protection and preservation.
Financial experts, policy makers, managers in toll collection industry shared their ideas and experience and proposed applicable solutions.

The 44th annual ASECAP Study and Information Days explored the key role of the toll motorways in ensuring an integrated and sustainable mobility in Europe. The event offered the opportunity to reflect on the EU integrated transport approach and, more specifically, on how to meet the challenges towards the EU 2020 Strategy. It also looked into the future of transport from the current international perspective.
