“Roads of Serbia” traditionally participates in the International Tourism Fair, which takes place from February 19th to 22nd 2026 under the slogan "One trip, a thousand stories" in Belgrade.
On the first day of the opening of the fair, Ljerka Ibrović, head of the Public Relations Department, welcomed the visitors and journalists present at the Roads of Serbia stand.
Recalling the Company's traditional participation in the Tourism Fair, she announced in her opening address the topics the director will speak about - the project to modernize the toll collection system, which “Roads of Serbia” has been preparing for several years. “We are talking about significant innovations in the way toll collection on Serbian roads works, project implementation phases, control models, as well as the effects that the new system will have on the transport sector and the economy as a whole” Ibrović stated.
The mandatory use of TAG devices for freight vehicles from April 1st and toll collection on the Belgrade Ring Road was explained, as well as the introduction of artificial intelligence into the toll collection system for the first time, with the application of NVIDIA technologies that were highlighted.

Numerous benefits of the new system were also emphasized, which will bring road users greater efficiency, comfort and an overall better user experience.
She left the floor to Darko Savić, director of the Toll Collection Sector, who presented to the public all the current activities that are being carried out in order to improve the collection system and improve the user experience.

She left the floor to Darko Savić, director of the Toll Collection Sector, who presented to the public all the current activities that are being carried out in order to improve the collection system and improve the user experience.
Director Savić reminded that from April 1, the test phase of the pilot project of collecting tolls for heavy goods vehicles on the Beltway around Belgrade on a section about 39 kilometers long begins: "It is an innovative system based on short-wave technology, the same one used at existing toll stations, but improved so that it allows vehicles to pass without stopping".

"We will not have traditional categorizers or more toll booths, not even on new highways. Instead, portals will be installed, that is, carriers with equipment for vehicle registration, through which tolls will be collected," explained Savić.
Savić reminded that Serbia already has a developed platform for electronic toll collection, created by domestic experts, which connects four countries with the same collection system - Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Croatia. The plan, he added, is to expand the system to Greece, as well as to other countries, including those that currently use the vignette system. The same platform will be used for toll collection on the Bypass around Belgrade.
Savić pointed out that Serbia has one of the most advanced toll collection systems in Europe, with an extremely high collection rate of as much as 99 percent.

Every day, until the end of the fair, at the Roads of Serbia stand, visitors can buy a new one, add or reconfigure their TAG device and learn about new educational campaigns "Use winter equipment! Don't let the winter drive you!" and "Winter service works for you! Drive patiently!" which are currently particularly relevant because they remind road users that in the period from November 1st to April 1st, they use the winter equipment provided by the Road Traffic Safety Act and to be careful and adjust their driving so as not to interfere with the operation of winter maintenance vehicles.
