The Department for Road Protection is responsible for carrying out activities prescribed by the Law on Roads for the purpose of protecting Category I and Category II state roads.
DIVISION FOR IDENTIFYING UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES ON ROADS
The Division for Identifying Unlawful Activities on Roads is responsible for keeping records of unlawful activities identified on Category I and Category II state roads by the road authority’s supervision service, contractors or persons submitting reports, collecting the required documentation and submitting requests to the competent inspection authority for the implementation of inspection measures.

DIVISION FOR AXLE LOAD CONTROL
The Division for Axle Load Control is responsible for overseeing the measurement of the axle load, total mass and dimensions of vehicles travelling on Category I and Category II state roads.
The axle load, total mass and dimensions of vehicles travelling on Category I and Category II state roads shall be measured exclusively in the presence of an authorised representative of the ministry responsible for transport affairs or an authorised officer of the ministry responsible for internal affairs.

DIVISION FOR QUALITY CONTROL
The Division for Quality Control is responsible for carrying out quality control of completed works and incorporated materials within the Sector’s scope of responsibility (asphalt, concrete, geomechanical works, traffic signage, etc.).
