Prime Minister Ana Brnabić at PE "Roads of Serbia" Centre for collection and processing of traffic data

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, together with the Minister of Environmental Protection, Irena Vujović and the associates and the Acting Director of the PE "Roads of Serbia", Zoran Drobnjak, has visited the PE "Roads of Serbia" Centre for collection and processing of motorway traffic data, located at the business premises of the toll station "Belgrade", at Vrčin.

The Serbian Prime Minister said that she was certain that the Centre for collection and processing of motorway traffic data would increase the safety of traffic participants and contribute to the environmental protection. During the visit, Brnabić has congratulated to the PE "Roads of Serbia" on the modernization and digitalization of traffic monitoring, considering the fact the Centre processes all data from the surveillance cameras on the motorways and toll stations, thus managing all signage on the motorways in Serbia.

The Serbian Prime Minister has added that the Centre will also enable speed checks on the motorways, obtaining of data on register plates of cars and their average speed on the motorway.
Her opinion is that, beside all that, the chargers for electric cars on the toll station "Belgrade" will contribute to the reduction of air pollution and praised the initiative of the PE "Roads of Serbia" for lowering electronic toll prices for electric and hybrid vehicles by 13 percent.

Brnabić has stressed that the development of the PE "Roads of Serbia" Centre will be continued, with the expectation of a larger influx of funds into the budget of Serbia, among other things, through collection of fines for overloaded vehicles because, she added, a large number of overweight and oversized trucks has been destroying roads in Serbia.

Minister of Environmental Protection, Irena Vujović,has remarked that each new installed charger for electric vehicles represents one more method for reducing air pollution and reminded that Serbia subsidizes purchase of electric vehicles. Vujović added that fighting air pollution was one of the priorities for the Government of Serbia and her ministry.

Acting Director of the PE "Roads of Serbia", Zoran Drobnjak, has announced the innovation of the data system, capable of monitoring all 65 toll stations in Serbia, the work of toll collection operators and the development of traffic on the motorways. "We have signed a contract for the purchase of a video wall, where we will monitor all toll stations, monitored now via computers. We will also introduce some other types of software in order to connect the financial sector and the registry office of the enterprise with the system", he explained.

Drobnjak has added that the PE "Roads of Serbia" also performs construction and reconstruction of roads, bridges and tunnels. "We invest a lot in traffic safety and the environment. There are chargers for electric vehicles, currently we have eight of them, and the purchase of another ten has been planned for this year, where each has the power of 185 kilowatts and is able to charge a vehicle in 20 minutes or less", Drobnjak has announced.
