Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Tomislav Momirović, together with the Assistant to Acting Director, Mr.Slavoljub Tubić, associates and representatives of the local self-government, visited today the works on the construction of an expressway from Lajkovac to Iverak.
"The works are going well, in accordance with the time schedule, and we are pleased with the quality of works executed by our Chinese partners, while expropriation of land is in progress on the part of the road from Lajkovac", the Minister said.
The construction of the expressway will connect Valjevo with the motorway E-763, "Miloš Veliki”, which will create greater opportunities for future investments and for the development of that part of Serbia.
"An expressway must be built so that Valjevo could have good traffic communication, which will also help Lajkovac become a transport hub in this part of the Kolubara District in a certain sense", Momirović has stressed.
Minister Momirović also spoke of other infrastructure investments in the Kolubara District - the construction of 30 kilometres of a completely new sewage system in Lajkovac, two plants for treatment of waste water, the Lajkovac Bypass, as well as investments in the local road network.
