Minister Momirović Visits Works on Belgrade Bypass Sector 6

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Tomislav Momirović, together with associates, representatives of the Contractor and the Investor, PE “Roads of Serbia”, has visited the works on the Belgrade Bypass Sector 6, and on that occasion said that the Belgrade Bypass is of strategic importance, not only for our capital, but for all people passing through Belgrade, and that it is expected that we will not have transit traffic in our capital next summer.  

“The works on the Belgrade Bypass are making good progress,  several issues have been resolved since more than 400 open questions regarding expropriation were dealt with in the last two years”, Momirović said and added that “in the conditions of a great energetic crisis and with a war in Europe, we manage to maintain the work on all infrastructure projects of strategic importance“.

Minister Momirović has pointed out that, at the moment, 10 motorways and expressways, are being built in Serbia.

The visit of the Belgrade Bypass Sector 6 was also attended by Aleksandar Kostadinović, the Project Manager and the representative of PE “Roads of Serbia”, who emphasized that the works are executed in accordance with the schedule and in cooperation with the competent ministry so that they could be completed within the predicted deadline.

The Belgrade Bypass design contains several sectors with a total length of 20.4 kilometers. In April last year, Sector 4 was opened to traffic, in the length of 7.7 kilometers from the bridge on the Sava at Ostružnica to the interchange Orlovača and Petlovo Brdo, while Sector 5 of the Belgrade Bypass, with the tunnel Straževica, was opened to traffic in June this year. The competent ministry is implementing this project in cooperation with PE “Roads of Serbia”, the Chinese company “Power Construction Corporation of China Ltd“ and the Azerbaijan company “Azvirt“.
