Minister Momirović Visits Works on Sector 6 of Belgrade Bypass

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Tomislav Momirović, together with the Acting Director of the PE “Roads of Serbia,” Zoran Drobnjak, his associates and the contractor’s representatives have held a meeting at the Chinese company “Power China” camp to discuss the latest issues related to the continuation of the Belgrade bypass Sector 6 construction.

After the meeting, the Minister visited the works on Sector 6, said that the bypass was the busiest corridor currently under construction, and expressed hope that the whole bypass story would become a thing of the past on the last day in March.

“Serbian citizens know that every summer, millions of vehicles, transiting from western Europe, cross the bridge “Gazela” through the center of Belgrade. Exactly because of that, the Belgrade bypass is the most significant section and therefore it is important that, after more than 30 years, we finish it”, the Minister said on this occasion.

Project Manager and the representative of the PE “Roads of Serbia,” Aleksandar Kostadinović, was also present at the visit to the construction site of the Belgrade bypass Sector 6, at the location for the future interchange Avala, and added on that occasion that fine weather is used for the installation of an asphalt layer on Sector 6 main route, in the interchange Avala zone. Kostadinović said there are 11 structures on Sector 6, one big interchange, and the tunnel Beli Potok.

Belgrade bypass Sector 6 stretches from the tunnel Straževica to the interchange Bubanj Potok for approximately10 kilometers. Currently, the works are being executed on bridges, tunnel Beli Potok, interchange Bubanj Potok, the local road, and the main roadway.
