PRESIDENT VUČIĆ ATTENDED COMMENCEMENT OF WORKS ON CONSTRUCTION OF MOTORWAY SECTION FROM KUZMIN TO SREMSKA RAČA

In attendance of the President of Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Tomislav Momirović, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, Hami Aksoy, Directors of the PE Roads of Serbia and Corridors of Serbia, Zoran Drobnjak and Aleksandar Antić, as well as the Contractors' representatives, the works on construction of future motorway to Sarajevo, from Sremska Rača to Kuzmin, commenced on March 1, 2022, at the future interchange at Bosut.

In course of the visit of this section, the President Vučić talked to the representative of the PE Roads of Serbia, Đurđa Stanovčić, who informed him on details of the future road route.

The Expert Supervisor, Dragan Jocić, convinced the President that „the bridge over river Sava at Sremska Rača is one of the best and constructed in the most solid way in Serbia“.

„This is a very important motorway section which will connect western Srem and our entire country with Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, in direction towards Banjaluka and Sarajevo“, said the President, and emphasized that the new bridge on Sava is one of the bridges of the highest quality in Serbia. He thanked to Turkish contractors for this, and expressed his confidence that the interchange and viaduct Bosut, on which the works have commenced today, will be constructed in the same manner.

The beginning of this road route is envisaged to be near the existing grade-separated junction Kuzmin where it will be connected to the existing motorway E-70. The route extends in the north-south direction, near settlements Kuzmin and Bosut, and all the way up to Sremska Rača where it will be ended with the bridge over river Sava.

The length of the section is app. 18 kilometers, covering the road route from Kuzmin to Sremska Rača that is 16.5 km long, and the bridge over river Sava that is 1320 meters long.

Along the route, 24 facilities (bridges, overpasses and culverts) of a total length of 1543 meters are planned to be constructed.

Two interchanges are planned to be constructed on this motorway section – one at its very access to the existing motorway E-70 in Kuzmin, and the other before the river in Bosut with access to a local road stretching towards Višnjićevo.

On the motorway route, two toll stations are designed – one within the interchange Bosut and the other in Sremska Rača.

The route has been designed as a standard motorway profile with two driving and one emergency lane for each direction and 30 meters wide median strip, for the speed of 130 km/h.
