President Vučić Visited Works on Belgrade Bypass

The President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, visited today, 26 May 2022, together with the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure,  Mr. Tomislav Momirović, Acting Director of the PE Roads of Serbia, Mr.  Zoran Drobnjak, Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Mr. Goran Vesić, and the contractors' representatives the construction site of the Sector 6 of the Belgrade Bypass, from the tunnel Streževica to Bubanj Potok.

The President emphasized that upon completion of the Belgrade Bypass, the freight transport will be displaced from Belgrade and that there will be no more Friday afternoon gridlocks on the motorway, at the exit from Belgrade towards Bubanj Potok.

„Bypass is a lifeline not only for Belgrade, but also for Serbia. There is another sector towards Vinča to be constructed. This bypass will be completed by March, but I wish it were sooner. For us, the crucial thing is to continue to work and build devotedly.  We will soon visit Morava and Danube corridor“, said president Vučić.

The works on Belgrade Bypass, on the segment of section B, namely Sectors 5 and 6, 3.1 km and 9.6 km long respectively, are in a full swing and are performed on every facility – bridges and tunnels, as well as road alignments and interchanges.

Sector 6, from Straževica to Bubanj Potok, is the most complex part of the Bypass, and there is the ongoing construction of a full motorway profile (six lanes in total) 30 m wide with 13 bridges, 360 m long tunnel Beli Potok, interchanges Avala and Bubanj Potok where the Bypass will be connected with the motorway E-75, Belgrade – Niš, on this Sector.

The entire section B of the Belgrade Bypass, from the bridge over river Sava at Ostružnica to Bubanj Potok, is 20.4 km long together with the approach structures.

By the completion of works up to Bubanj Potok, 47 km of the motorway will be completed.

Further construction of the Bypass – Sector C, from Bubanj Potok to Vinča and Pančevo is scheduled, and upon its completion, the entire Belgrade Bypass will be about 69 km long.
