Minister Momirović Visited Works on Belgrade Bypass

The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Tomislav Momirović, together with the associates and representatives of the PE Roads of Serbia, visited today, May 22, 2022, the works on Belgrade Bypass on the Sector 5, at the tunnel Straževica.

"I am satisfied with the results and work dynamics achieved on the Belgrade Bypass project, and we are considering having it completed in the near future, thus making this more than thirty years old story a thing of the past", Minister Momirović said and pointed out that he expects this road section currently under works to be opened to traffic by June 15, 2022.

The Minister said that upon completion of this project, the transit transport will run faster and more efficiently, thus contributing to significant mitigation of air pollution in Belgrade and enhanced economic prosperity in our country.

We are currently on the Sector 5, before the face of the tunnel Straževica that is 733 meters long, and which construction began in 2019", said Mr. Jovica Radić, responsible contracting engineer for tunnels and bridges. He added that this is a very complex tunnel and that all the difficulties have been overcome with the help of the ministry in line, thus enabling the tunnel Straževica and the entire Sector 5 to be opened for a trial run.
