The construction site where the bridge over river Sava is being constructed is active even during the New Year and Christmas holidays.
More than 400 workers and engineers from Serbia and Turkey have joined forces and bridged the river Sava.
In the period from December 31, 2021, until January 4, 2022, workers and the Contractor's engineers, supervisors and the Employer's representatives, performed launching of bridge structure over river Sava and placed it in its final position.
In this manner, structure weighing app. 2700 tons has ended its journey more than 350 m long and reached its final position, thus bridging the river Sava.
Longitudinal launching performed during holidays comprised two phases 12 and 13, under which the steel structure was launched for the last 47 m.
To make the success of construction workers even greater, during the Christmas holidays, from January 6, 2022, until January 10, 2022, the launching of left bridge structure will be also performed so that the steel bridge could be brought to its final position in full motorway profile on January 11, 2022.
Assumption that this is an extraordinary global endeavor has been confirmed by the fact that the complete structure was shipped from Turkey, assembled, mounted, protected and longitudinally launched to its final position in less than 8 months.
