ZRENJANIN BYPASS SECTION OPENED TO TRAFFIC

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Tomislav Momirović, in the presence of the Mayor of Zrenjanin, Simo Salapura, and the Executive Director of the Sector for Maintenance of I and II Category State Roads at the PE “Roads of Serbia“, Zoran Stojisavljević, opened a segment of the Zrenjanin bypass to traffic, in a length of 3.7 km.

During the visit, Minister Momirović pointed out the significance of the bypass construction, regarding both the reduction of harmful gas emissions and the being one of the preconditions for the industrial development of the region.

"The objective of the Republic of Serbia Government is for Zrenjanin to be an industrial center for both Vojvodina and entire Serbia. We expect to double the economic growth in this city and that it will become a development generator of our country", Momirović said.

He added that construction of the fifth bypass sector would begin in the spring, in the length of approximately 4 km, with a goal to relocate all cargo traffic from the city eventually.
